Call for applications from young opera singers

OPERAPLUS is launching the selection process for participants at its 2008 summer school in Portugal in collaboration with the Estoril Music Festival.

Are you a young opera singer who is looking for a dynamic summer programme, which offers a high quality vocal training programme, master classes with top international artists Ann MURRAY, Graham JOHNSON and Robert WHITE, repertoire and language coaching, recitals, concerts..... and much more?

For the OPERA CLASS, this year we have chosen the theme of "Romeo & Juliet" for the staging and the 24 selected singers will be required to learn excerpts from 3 operas, "I Capuleti e i Montecchi - Bellini", "Roméo et Juliette" - Gounod and "West Side Story" - Bernstein. Each singer will be informed which roles they have to learn and will receive copies of the scores well in advance, so that they can already know their music by heart on arrival. These scenes will be staged and form the programme for the final concert.
