Auditions: Hero of my own life, a new play by Genevieve Grace

This new play takes place behind the scenes at one of Charles Dickens’ celebrated public readings. Dickens, his daughter Kate, her secret lover, Perugini, two stage hands and the front of house manager become characters from some of his most famous novels – shedding light on the mystery of Dickens´ personal life and the origins of his uncanny genius.

Auditions:  Monday 3rd September and Tuesday 4th SEPTEMBER at 18.30 at Estrela Hall

Performances: Opening on 11th October for three weeks. Performances will be on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 21.00 and there will be one Sunday matinee (date to be confirmed).

Rehearsal schedule: This will be by arrangement but is likely to be from 20.00 onwards during the week, with longer periods on Saturdays and Sundays

We are looking for 6 actors, a younger male and female (20s-early 30s) and one female and three male actors capable of playing 40s-60s.  Versatility is a must, as each character takes on several roles.

Extracts from the script will be provided on the day. You may be asked to read several parts (including character changes).

Production Team:
