WHAT IS STAMPING GROUND?
Stamping Ground (SG08) is Dance4¹s annual participatory festival of danceand performance aimed at giving families and young people the opportunity toengage with contemporary dance and live performance. The events take placethroughout the East Midlands in July, August and September 2008, travellingto existing local festivals and events to engage and celebrate the diversityof the region's local communities.Engaging with schools and local community is an essential part of SG08 andwe offer an outreach programme running in parallel to SG08.

NEW DIRECTION FOR SG08.
This year SG08 will be offering festival organisers the opportunity toselect a specific performance piece/s and workshops, available from a Menuof Artists/Companies compiled by Dance4, as opposed to one piece only. Forthat reason we are looking for a minimum of 3 Companies/ Artists to be partof this Menu.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR?
If you are a Company or an Artist who has an exciting performance piece thatis primarily movement focused then we want to hear from you. By this we meanall forms of dance expression and live performance that has a choreographicstarting point.

Essentials criteria:
* Performance piece is appropriate or adaptable for children and families
* Performance piece is flexible and can be performed outdoors
* Company/Artists to be available from July until September 08
* Company/Artists to be committed to perform in up to 12 festivalsdepending on the festival organisers selection from the menu.
* Company/Artists to be have strong experience and available to deliveroutreach workshops from March until August 08 (fees additional)
* Company/Artists should be based or have a desire to work within the EastMidlands
* Company/Artists prepared to perform to a range of audiences up to over 200 people
* Company/Artists to have experience of delivering outreach.
* Member(s) of the Company/Artists should be CRB checked.

WHAT DANCE4 OFFERS
Performance Fee: Each Company/ Artists will be paid £400 per festival plus contribution towards expenses Mentoring & support: Dance4 will work closely with the Companies/Artistsselected to offer support regarding creative and performance feedback and tosupport the group with any issues occurred.

Selection Process
The selection will happen in two stages:
1- Short-listing of applicants on 20 February to be invited for anaudition.
2- An audition on 4 March in Nottingham consisting of performing thepiece and delivering a practical workshop.
