New grants scheme to promote Romanian culture abroad and to encourage cooperation between Romanian and foreign artists. Applications open in several categories.
The CANTEMIR Programme was established in 2006 as a pilot programme that awards non-reimbursable financing to Romanian cultural projects aimed at international audiences.
In 2007, the objectives of the CANTEMIR Programme are to:
- increase Romanian culture’s visibility and accessibility on international cultural markets;
- encourage co-operation between Romanian and foreign artists.
Consequently, support will be given to cultural operators from Romania who wish for a Romanian participation in major international festivals and to cultural operators from Romania and outside Romania who initiate projects to promote Romanian culture and civilisation abroad or projects of cultural co-operation intended to encourage inter-cultural dialogue.
For 2007, Programul CANTEMIR Programme is structured into 3 sections, with its own specific objectives, priorities and conditions of eligibility.
SECTION I : FESTIVAL » Culture by Request
SECTION II : PROMOTION » Culture to Go
SECTION III : CO-OPERATION » Culture to Share
The deadline for applications for Culture to Go and Culture to Share is 13 Aug. The Cooperation programme is open to applications from organisations outside Romania (see website for criteria)
