art 2.0 - a new Euro-Med Young Artists Network (EMYAN) initiative seeks academic mentors, partners and participants.
Since the establishment of the Euro-Med Young Artists Network (EMYAN) at the beginning of the year 2007, the network has been working on ensuring the sustainability of its actions which will pave the road for young artists to pursuit their passion into the future.
art 2.0 is a new initiative which is being proposed and developed by EMYAN.
Leaping into the world of information and communication technology gave the today arts a new dimension which will help forming the arts of the future. Giving new ideas of creation of new arts and also merging of some of the existing arts.
New aims and purposes of art have been arisen in the last few years arguing the world to put a definition of this newly created multi purpose easy to make art.
The Euro-Med Young Artists Network (EMYAN) has the pleasure to launch art 2.0 initiative in order to define the art of the future and outline it in order to create a new era of art.
What is art 2.0 ?
Is it a new way of saying digital arts?
Is it some sort of a tool, a method in order to strength the relation between art and technology?
Is it an abbreviation of something?
Is it a new version of art with particular aims and objectives such as dialogue, development, freedom, peace…etc?
Is it describing the today easy to make art that ensuring interactivity with the public through today technology?
Is it the name of the coming era of art?
Is it describing the tools and methods that make it easy to create a work of art?
In order to answer the above questions and many others, the Euro-Med Young Artists Network is conducting a research on this subject to come up with a universal definition of the term art 2.0 .
By encouraging young artists and young researchers from the Euro-Med region to debate and discuss this term and conduct a definition that will presented as a universal term expressing the arts of the future.
How is it going to happen?
The whole activity will be supervised and mentored by academic staff.
The debates and the discussion sessions will be online via the network website (www.emyan.org).
The participants will be divided into groups and each group has a moderator.
There will be no offline sessions unless if it's urgent.
The work and efforts proposed in this activity is completely voluntarily so there will be no refund on anything.
Some of the partners will create a Chat Node (a meeting room with a computer connected to the internet) for local participants to connect with other participants in other Chat Nodes, this is only done when it's urgent to have a group meeting.
The participants are urged to have access to the internet; this is a sole responsibility of the participants in order to be selected.
Offline meetings of local participants are encouraged.

1. Call for Academic Mentors
In order to conduct such a definition, an academic mentoring is required. EMYAN has the pleasure to invited art professors and experts who have an experience with related subjects to supervise and mentor the sessions and give advice and support to the groups.

2. Call for Partners
Organizations, Art Institutes, Culture Centers and Universities from the Euro-Med region are invited to take part in the realization of this initiative.

3. Call for Participants
EMYAN is inviting young artists from the Euro-Med region between the age of 18 and 25 years old to apply for its call and help forging the future of art.
