Treaty of Utrecht presents Nieuwe Grond: The Artist as Opinion Leader.
A four-day conference for leading young (40-) artists, performing artists and professionals in the art-business from all over Europe, who are about to find new ways to have an impact on the society they work in. During this programme, the participants will be challenged to take leadership towards society. They find out how they can increase their impact whilst bringing their message to the world. They will investigate the core discussion on the influence of Art.
The four-day program is an intense experience that combines personal leadership, influencing skills and marketing developed by renowned business trainers, with inspiration through lectures by international groundbreaking key note speakers such as The Yes Men and Moniek Toebosch. Part of the training will be ‘open space’ to work together on a casuistic in which arts will meet society. The outcome will be the posting of an artistic, personal or group statement.
This year the seminar focuses on the theme Experience and Infiltration.
The program also contains simulation games, best practices and live performances by for example Robin Deacon (Whatever Happened to Colin Powell?). Parallel with the training there’s an exhibition of political engaged work by international artists.
Both training and festival will take place at the De Horst Estate in Driebergen, fifteen minutes from the city of Utrecht.

Costs: € 295,- , including training, hotel, meals, excl. travel expenses,
extra night hotel 40 euro in case of arrival on Wednesday.
