The Novas Contemporary Urban Centre is hosting an exhibition to coincide with International Women's Day.
This is a call for artist participation in an exhibition to celebrate International Women's Day.
International Woman's Day has been observed since the early 1900's, and is intended to honour the women's rights movement and to inspire and celebrate women's achievements. The theme for activities to celebrate International Women's Day for 2008 is '100 years of active women in paid and unpaid work'.Novas are looking for artist's who are able to engage with these subjects, or have work that is relevant to this area.
Some possible themes are:
Women in the work place
The effect of working women on society
A celebration of women's achievements
The ongoing struggle for emancipation
Inspirational
The exhibition will run from the 7th March to the 5th of April, with a private view on the 6th of March. The gallery is situated over four floors; each floor is approximately 140 square metres, one of which will be used for thisexhibition. The space allows for a diverse range of work, and artist's workingin any media are welcome to apply. The closing date for submission of work is February the 1st 2008.

About the gallery
Novas gallery is a non-profit organisation. All work is sold on a 50:50 basis,with the gallery's share going directly into the charity, Novas. The other 50% goes to the artist.
