Moscow Meyerhold Center and Moscow Art Theatre School have opened admissions for their 4th Master's Degree in Stage Directing program. Selection will be made on a competitive basis among interested young directors from the CIS and Baltic countries.
Studies will begin on February 10, 2009 and will last for a period of 2 years. All studies will be in Moscow with classes given by different schoolmasters from Moscow theatre institutions.
There is no tuition fee for this program, and students are provided with hostel accommodation, meals, and a minor scholarship.
Candidates should meet the following requirements:
- be citizens of the CIS or Baltic states (Russian citizens are not eligible for this program)
- have a higher education in Acting or Directing
- have experience of working in a theatre or experience in staging
- possess Russian that is good enough to complete studies (excellent knowledge of Russian is not required)
- be able to relocate to Moscow for 2 years

Applications are accepted through November 10, 2008, interested candidates should send the following information:
- copy of higher education diploma (copies will only be accepted by e-mail, regular mail or at a personal visit, but NOT by fax)
- CV or autobiography
- director’s explications (director's plan of the play, from 1 to 12 pages), sketches may be enclosed if available
- recording of a previous stage work or work that is currently being developed (or a part of these) on DVD and CD, if available
Admission Procedures:
On November 22, 2008 Admission Committee will hold a meeting on selecting candidates for the second round of admissions; selection will be based on the applications received.
On December 10, 2008 personal interviews will be held with previously selected applicants at Moscow Meyerhold Center. All eligible applicants must be available to visit Moscow for these interviews where successful applications will be announced.
