Posters Open Call - “Imagination On Behalf Of Our Planet:”

Invitation / Call for posters

Dear artist, scientist and/or organization
In facing the new environmental challenges we are presently dealing with and experiencing in our daily lives, it is important to understand what scientists, artists, designers and organizations involved in improving environmental conditions are thinking about and doing to create change. Art & Science Collaborations (ASCI) is developing an online exhibition of digitally prepared posters to point out positive and inspiring approaches about the environment and our planet. Environmental sustainability also depends on new perspectives and new points of view about issues related to cities, transport systems, food, forests, drinkable water, ocean resources, endangered species, etc., which propel public and institutional debate.

This special CALL for posters is made to people or organizations located in economically less fortunate parts of the world to get their unique perspective on this matter. We encourage people to use their imagination to develop graphical approaches in digital format, and to participate in this online exhibition that intends to promote new points of view on how to ensure a better future for our planet.

Art & Science Collaborations is a twenty-year old, international, nonprofit organization based in New York City. Its programs and international symposia [1998-2002] on art-science collaborations were instrumental in re-invigorating this field in the United States. ASCI is an open-membership organization with the purpose of raising public awareness about artists and scientists using science and technology to explore new forms of creative expression, and to increase communication and collaboration between these fields. It’s website receives approximately 40,000 visitors/month.
