What’s the project Theatre in the City?
The project Theatre in the City has as its main goal to give Torres Vedras’ city educational
microstructures to help fighting the regional asymmetries, providing educational and cultural
enjoyment spaces for the citizens, in the context of theatre, of performative arts, and
within a range of artistic expressions wider than the one the dramatic expression concept
itself allows em bracing.

In this project there’s an intention to discuss, through the several artistic and performative
variants that the dramatic expression allows, subjects that include the concepts of city and
community, as well as the relationships established between both, in a certain territory.
One of the richest methodologies to work the dynamics between the I, the other, the group
and, finally, the community, is the sociodrama. This is the reason behind doing 6 workshops
facilitated by credentialed sociodramatists.

Beside the more direct and obvious benefits inherent to the attending of training sessions
(in this case under the format of workshops focused on share, experiment, know-how), we
believe that through a continuous and persistent action this project will also contribute to
win and fidelize theatre-going public.
