The Institute of Contemporary Arts, London's foremost centre for a dynamic range of multi disciplined art forms and an essential meeting place for anyone interested in contemporary culture is offering an Internship in the following department:
The ICA Education Department is currently looking to recruit a hard working and motivated intern for a three-month period to start in January 2008 for 2-4 days per week, subject to a two-week probationary period.
Working closely with the Director of Learning, this role is a greatopportunity to become involved in the ICA's ambitious education programme, working with schools, colleges, communities and families in a 'hands on' capacity. Duties will include developing learning resources, overseeing projects, maintaining databases and coordinating mailings, as well as supporting group visits. There may be some evening and weekend work involved, but time is given off in lieu.
Applicants should be self-motivated and have experience in gallery based education as well as working within an office environment. They should possess computer literacy (knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint), an excellent telephone manner and work well both in a team and autonomously. A committed interest in gallery education and excellent spoken and written English skills are essential.
Internships are offered on a voluntary basis, however all travel expenses between zones 1-4 are reimbursed and ICA staff benefits are provided.
