Berlin Post School for Physical Theatre-Dance

18 April 2011 – 9 July 2011

This is a unique program designed for professional stage artists who have their main expressive tool through the use and conceptualizing the Body and its physical artistic possibilities. This program encompasses a blend of various methodologies using meditation practice in the mornings (to sharpen our perception), martial arts, butoh, experimental dance, physical theatre and text/voice work. The program is divided in two parts:
Inputs: In the first six weeks the selected participants will receive a wide and intensive range of inputs by experiencing their physicality through trainings, master classes, compositions and improvisation practice in order to create performative material with the guiding teachers.

Outputs: The last five weeks the participants work intensively with their own ideas, projects and material, getting constant feedback through "work in progress showings" from teachers and colleagues. In this period the classes and the trainings continue but focussing on the creative material coming from the participants. The process finishes with a professional presentation of the produced works.

Staff: Elias Cohen (Physical Theater), Se-Rok Park (body/ voice work), Minako Seki (Butoh), Sifu Bambang (South Shaolin Kung Fu), Lisa Densem (tbc, Contemporary Dance, Sasha Waltz member).

We take a maximum of 16 participants.
