We are delighted to inform you that the Call for Participation for the 2012 edition of the MONTH OF PERFORMANCE ART due in BERLIN in MAY, is now available (deadline: MARCH 1ST, 2012).
The MONTH OF PERFORMANCE ART is a month-long platform dedicated to presenting new work and connecting, promoting and highlighting Berlin’s independent and contemporary Performance Art scene and its players.
Launched in May 2011, following a meeting of Berlin-based Performance Art practitioners, artists and curators, the MONTH OF PERFORMANCE ART kicked off to an auspicious start with a diverse programme comprising over 40 curated events, 100 participating artists, curators and producers, 25 hosting venues/ locations, and thousands of both on-site and online visitors. MPA 2011 drew also significant interest from international artists and organisations, keen in partnering with the project and presenting their work in Berlin.
In view of these results and developments, we are aiming to expand the programming of MPA 2012 to also include:
● more institutions, including museums, galleries, theatres and universities interested in hosting
Performance Art-related activities;
● a Performance Art award;
● an international platform for non-Berlin based artists;
● workshops, lectures and discussions to fuel active reflections and exchanges of Performance Artrelated activities and discourses.
With this Call for Participation, we would like to hear from potential venues, organisations, and networks, as well as curators and producers, interested in contributing to the programming of the MONTH OF PERFORMANCE ART 2012 as hosting partners.
