Seeking musical performers with experience in clowning - London

The Honk Project is a troupe of musical clowns intent on exploring the ways in which music and clowning can interact.

The company will be devising a new show in January 2009 at Jackson's Lane, and we are looking for a fourth performer to join us

We want to find a strong, individual and quirky performer who has experience in clowning and physical comedy, and who also plays one ormore musical instruments to a high standard – ideally including an acoustic bass instrument, e.g. double bass, tuba, sousaphone, baritonesax...

Our fourth Honker will be someone who enjoys working in an ensemble, fits in easily with other performers and is open to improvising musically as well as reading dots. And of course, he/she will be excited by the idea of putting clowning and music together.

The plan is to devise/rehearse for 3 weeks from 12th January 2009, andthen perform the show at several London venues in February.

If you are interested in applying and think you suit our criteria, please send a cv, a photo and a covering letter by email to Amy Howardat
honkproject@gmail.com, or by post to Chief Honk, 22a Brading Road, London SW2 2AW.

The deadline for all applications is Sunday 7th December 2009.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a workshop auditionon the 11th December.
