IF ONLY (International Festival of a Necessarily Lonely You) and Legitimate Bodies Dance Company in partnership with Birr Theatre and Arts Centre are offering a 3 week residency for an independent dance artist. The visiting artist will be working on a solo that will be premiered at the 4th edition of IF ONLY Festival, taking place on the 27th of November 2011.
The residency will include:
* Full access to the space of Birr Theatre and Arts Centre every morning from 9am-2pm and Tuesday, Thursday and Friday afternoon from 3pm-6pm.
* Free accommodation and a stipend of €500 plus a performance fee of €300 for the November show.
* Travel to and from Ireland (return flight from Europe only).
* Full access to the office in Birr Theatre and Arts Centre and full support in the production, documentation and promotion of the solo created.
The guest artist will:
* Use the space provided accordingly to the rule of the theatre.
* Produce a 12-15 min solo to be premiered at IF ONLY on the 27th of November 2011.
* Teach a limited amount of classes and workshops (3-6) for young people and the community during their stay in Birr.
Residency period: Nov 7th-Sun 27th Nov 2011.
